For achieving the three-star green building certification, the NCC Exhibition Center adopts numbers of energy saving and environmental protection technologies such as the ground-source heat pump system with buried pipes, capillary radiant cooling and heating, free cooling with outdoor air during the transition season, three-dimensional heat pipe exhaust heat recovery device, variable frequency control, air purification device, CO2 concentration monitoring system in the exhibition hall, CO concentration monitoring system in the underground garage, automatically controlled ventilation systems with skylight temperature monitoring, etc. This paper presents the HVAC green design scheme of the project in combination with the relevant requirements of GB/T 50378-2014 Green building assessment standard. By setting a baseline model, the energy saving and carbon emission reduction benefits of various parts of the HVAC system are calculated and analysed. The annual electricity consumption index of this project is as low as 26 kWh/m2 and the annual carbon emission is as low as 13.66 kg/m2, which reflects the high energy efficiency, low energy consumption, and low carbon emission.
